Quoting Addy Osmani, Morgan Westlee Lunt, and Qing Wang

We think "did a human read the code?" is an imprecise proxy for "what could go wrong with this change, and which check—automated or human—is the right one to catch it?" Asking that question also changed when review happens. Before, review was a gate at the end of the road: write the code, open a PR, wait for your colleague. Now, review runs continuously, more like spellcheck while you write. Most changes have been reviewed and fixed by Claude at least once before a human is asked to look. This catches most routine mistakes, and saves team attention for higher-level questions and scrutiny. — Addy Osmani, Morgan Westlee Lunt, and Qing Wang , How the Claude Code team does code review Tags: anthropic , claude , ai , claude-code , llms , addy-osmani , coding-agents , generative-ai , agent

An Nvidia insider-turned-VC on why robotics hasn’t hit its ChatGPT moment, yet

Amulya Vishwanath, who spent seven years leading product marketing for NVIDIA’s robotics platforms, says robotics is currently in its “Lego era,” with the basic building blocks like actuators, robotic hands, software, and safety standards still being rebuilt. This view runs counter to those who believe that robotics, powered by a general foundation model, is about to have […]

Simulation App Speeds Up Electric Truck Battery Design

This article is brought to you by COMSOL . These days, no one blinks an eye at two-day, one-day, and even same-day package deliveries. Despite the plethora of localized fulfillment and distributi on centers that have cropped up to meet the demand, delivery trucks still need to make considerably long drives, often over highways. To reduce fuel and maintenance costs as well as carbon emissions, companies are investing in electric trucks for their delivery fleets. While turning to electric trucks is a promising solution, the battery packs incorporated into these automotive designs often fall short in the lifetime needed to make long-distance highway travel feasible. To help overcome the issue of battery lifetime, a consortium of universities and industry partners incorporated multiscale simul

IEEE Offers More Services to Cities That Want to Be Smarter

More and more city governments are using advanced technologies to improve livability for their residents. Municipalities use data from smartphones and sensors for traffic enforcement, traffic control, and waste management. They also have implemented artificial intelligence and deep learning programs. Dubai , Paris , and Coral Gables , Fla., are among the cities that have invested heavily in programs to become smarter. But along with the conveniences that come with a smart city transition, there have been challenges including safety and privacy issues and eroding relationships between residents and city officials. Although many initiatives have delivered real innovations, not all have been successful. Inefficient global coordination has hindered projects with unclear standards, socioeconomi

Apple’s updated App Store rules go after ‘nudify’ AI apps

Apple's App Store rules now more explicitly ban so-called "nudify" apps that generate intimate images of people without their consent using AI tools. The rule changes follow significant criticism toward Apple after X users used Grok earlier this year to make nonconsensual, sexualized deepfakes, including minors. Apple didn't pull X or Grok from the App […]

It’s incredible to have reached a threshold where it’s practical that AI will be better at training models than humans are so quickly. One day recursive self improvement feels far off, and the next we already have signs of what it will look like. Model capability finally exceeding most human engineers, advancements in the harness and infra for long running agents, a growing array of data, and the ability to parallelize the agents to work on vastly more tasks and tests and approaches than any person could have before, creates an incredible flywheel. This flywheel will almost certainly accelerate model progress far faster than we’ve seen before - or at a minimum enable pushing up the ceiling of the frontier at an insane rate. If you aren’t pricing in what RSI will lead to, that’s probably a mistake.
